Veteran Teachers Available As Mentors

Would an Extra Pair of Experienced Ears be Useful?
The "ears" (and experience) of a knowledgeable listener are available to you and your students through the OMEA Music Mentor Program. That program facilitates communication and exchange of ideas between an experienced retired music educator and teachers in the classroom or rehearsal hall. The retired Mentor might be helpful by observing your classes, discussing specific concerns or even listening and perhaps working with ensembles. The options are open. The results might be the introduction of some different strategies, a chance to "talk-shop", a 'new face' for your students or just reinforcement and encouragement for the teacher.

Interested? Contact the Mentor coordinator and describe a general goal for the visit. The coordinator will then endeavor to identify a retired music educator Mentor with skills matched to your purpose and interest in responding to your invitation. There is no fee.
