Each student is provided with a computer, midi keyboard, interface, Finale software and course text for this hands-on workshop. The course begins by going over all of the Finale
tools, how they work and when to use them. The student is then given 5 in-class assignments
which explore simple and speedy note inputting, hyperscribing a 4 part chorale, lyric entry, score entry with transposition of parts and part extraction, exploding and imploding music.Following the completion of in-class projects, the students are free to work on their own material that they bring with them. Minimal computer and musical keyboard experience is required. Optional college credit is available. Pre-registration is necessary! Click on music.htm below for registration and more info.
