Markham enjoys a consistent record of high student achievement. Our experienced principal and staff support the work of 11 classroom teachers and 8 education specialists, who bring an array of teaching expertise to the Markham community. The curriculum provides a well-rounded education with special emphasis on reading, math, writing and analytical thinking. Students learn in a cooperative, team-based environment that accommodates different learning styles and encourages social development. There is a yearlong curriculum plan, and much instruction is delivered in thematic units developed by teaching teams. Physical education, library skills, computer lab, music and art instruction supplement regular classroom work. |
