District #14 Inservice Day Workshop for Choral and Band Teachers

When: 9am-noon, October 10, 2003

Where: Athey Creek Middle School
2900 SW Borland Road
West Linn, OR 97068

Registration will be in the main lobby of the school from 8:30-9:00. Cost for each attendee will be $15, payable at the door. Attendees will receive a certificate for 4 PDU Hours.

Our keynote speaker and Choral clinician is Dr. Sharon Paul of the University of Oregon:

• Keynote: Teaching with the Brain in Mind
• Session #1: Getting the Most Out of Rehearsal: Tips for Successful Rehearsal Technique
• Session #2: Hearts, Minds, and Music: Encouraging The Best In Our Singers

Our Band clinician is Dr. Michael Burch-Pesses of Pacific University:

• Session #1: Effective Rehearsal Techniques
• Session #2: Communicating Clearly From The Podium
  (participants are encouraged to bring batons)
